Before Alice, there was Sally.
In the late 60's in London, Ontario, Paul Kersey's choice
of hair style (very long) caused him to be a victim of the
"Is that a boy or girl?" mentality. He eventually became saddled
with, and later embraced, the nickname "Sally". When it came time
to come up with a name for the blues band he was drumming for, the
name the band chose was "Sally and the Bluesmen".
They later changed their name to the
Bluesmen Revue and recorded
a couple of singles.
